Africanfuturism writer.

VH Ncube was born in Johannesburg and raised in Pretoria, South Africa.

When she's not dreaming of alternate futures in her writing, she's doing so in her day job as an advocate for a just transition.

At the heart of her writing is an exploration of the path paved by individual and societal choices, and her writing is often informed by her work on socio-economic and environmental justice issues.

She is a member of the African Speculative Fiction Society and was selected for the Voodoonauts 2024 Black Speculative Summer Fellowship. Her work is forthcoming in The Map of Lost Places anthology and has appeared in Omenana.

When she’s not working on her novel or writing short stories, she enjoys hiking, roller-skating and running (in that order).

She holds an LLB and an LLM (with distinction) from the University of Cape Town and is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
